GOAL:
Considerations when running two versions of Progress on Windows Systems.
GOAL:
Can version 8.X and 9.X run correctly on a Windows machine together?
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
FIX:
Yes. Progress version 8.x and 9.x can co-exist on the same machine
During the installation insure the following.
1. During the installation of the second Progress version ensure that the Destination Directory, is not the same for the previous installed version(s).
2. Redefine your PATH. For more information on modifying your directory paths, see the "Environment Variables" section.
3. In order to use the AdminServers for more than one version of Progress, the -port and -adminport parameter of each AdminServer must be unique as described in the "Managing the AdminServer" section.
To access previous version tools or utilities, you must use complete pathnames.
