Errors appear in database log file pertaining to one specific server.
Error formatting message <errno> Message file is corrupt.
Error formatting message 2253. Message file is
corrupt.

errno=9 reading promsgs file, it may have been deleted.
errno 9 translates to Bad File Number

CAUSE:
Bug# 20020517-036
CAUSE:
This is the result of a Solaris operating system bug dealing with the opening and closing of file handles. Progress developers, however, were able to get around the problem with a code change regarding how the PROMSGS file is accessed by Progress. The code change was applied to all Progress ports.
FIX:
Upgrade to 9.1D05 or higher.
