HPUX - Error 1174 - Invalid Shared Memory Identifier
On HP/UX you cannot have a single process attach to a shared memory
segment multiple times.
Because of this limitation, if you connect to a database with one
logical name, then connect again to the same database with a
different logical name, you will see the following error:
SYSTEM ERROR: Invalid shared memory segment identifier (1174)
This is an HP specific problem and should not happen on other
operating systems.
