FACT(s) (Environment):
MS-Windows
SYMPTOM(s):
Apparent disappearance or discoloration of data.
Native 4GL fill-in widget.
Fillin widget disappears or is discoloured when widget is disabled.
CHANGE:
Widget is disabled.
CAUSE:
If you run under MS-Windows, the issue might be caused by the setting of the disabled text in MS Windows itself. In order to show that the field is insensitive, the text of the widget is redisplayed to whatever the disabled text color is set to in Windows when Progress disables a Native widget. On many PCs, this color is the same as the background color of the widget, specifically if you have the 3D effect set.
The data is there, but it is in the same color as the background of the widget.
FIX:
To fix this problem, take the following steps:
1) Go into Control Panel in Windows.
2) Select the Display icon. (The Icon is Color in 95 & 98)
3) Choose the Appearance tab. (In 95 & 98 it is color palette)
4) From here you can adjust the color scheme.
