FACT(s) (Environment):
IBM AIX 5.1

SYMPTOM(s):
Invalid shared memory identifier (1174)
The shared memory does not have the correct MAGIC number (1179)
Single user session works fine
Cannot start a database in multi user mode
Shared memory segment is created but appears to be a non Progress according to "proutil -C dbipcs"
Prostrct repair does not help
Applying 5.1 level 0003 does not help
Removing an existing shared memory segment does not help
CHANGE:
Recently upgraded Operating System from AIX 4.2.2 to AIX 5.1
CAUSE:
This configuration is not supported.
FIX:
Restore previous Operating System release 4.2.2 or upgrade to a supported Progress version for AIX 5.1.
