SYMPTOM(s):

Can not transfer file greater than 2 gigabytes to Linux

Large files not currently supported for Linux

Binary dump file greater than 2 gig can not be used on Linux

FACT(s) (Environment):

Linux Intel
Progress 9.1C
Progress 9.1D

CAUSE:

Client performed a binary dump on a platform which supports large files.
The resultant binary dump file was larger than 2 gigabyte.
This file could not be transferred and used on target Linux platform because Linux does not currently support large files (files greater than 2 gigabytes).

CAUSE:

Bug# OE00082894

FIX:

Temporarily disable large file support within operating system of machine where source database exists.
Perform another binary dump from source database system.
Transfer these files to target Linux system.
Load these files on the target Linux system.
