FACT(s) (Environment):

SYMPTOM(s):
Finnish string "äöå" within Oracle seen as ""ao?"" with Progress
Finnish string "äöå" with Progress written as "dve" within Oracle
No problem with Finnish strings when Using Progress database
CAUSE:
There is a conversion problem between the Oracle client (Progress DataServer client) and the Oracle database.
FIX:
Set the environment variable NLS_LANG to WE8ISO8859P15 prior to starting the Oracle DataServer Broker or the Oracle DataServer Client.
