Database in use by <user> on <tty>. Wait or choose CANCEL to stop. (2623)

MATDB in use by 37 on ken. Wait or choose CANCEL to stop. (2623)

There is no machine called ken

Clearing the 37 connection kicks off a user on another machine

The list of connected users to the database shows machine names that do not appear when browsing the network

CAUSE:

Registry information is incorrect, e.g.:

Enable DNS "0"

FIX:

Restore the netbios name of the computer to the above registry key. This can be confirmed by typing 'set computername' at a DOS prompt.
