FACT(s) (Environment):
Compaq Tru64 UNIX
SYMPTOM(s):
Database is using many small memory segments instead of large segment
Maximum number of shared-memory segments per process exceeded. (1175)
Promon -R&D-1-14 shows segments of 8MB
SHMMAX is set greater than 16 Mg
CAUSE:
This is the expected behavior. Progress 9.x uses 8MB as the shared memory segment size on Compaq Tru64 UNIX servers as the default behavior.
FIX:
Start the Database Broker with the parameter "-Mpte"
