SYSTEM ERROR: I/O error 22 in readit, ret -1, file <n>, addr 0. (290)

Intermittent Progress client disconnection with error 290 using Terminal Server

Windows 2000 SP3 or SP4 installed

(290) with Progress clients on Windows 2000 Terminal Server with shared -T directory

CAUSE:

FIX:

Change the client temporary directory (-T parameter) to point to a local drive on the Terminal Server and make sure each client has it's own temporary directory (e.g. <TS local drive>\TEMP\%USERNAME%).
