GOAL:
Why does the _SQLSRV2 process show an active connection after a client machine reboots or crashes?
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
FIX:
Clients connecting via SQL92 are remote clients. When a client crashes without sending a signal to the broker, the _SQLSRV2 process will still show the user as being connected. The connection will eventually be cleaned up by TCP. After two hours, or depending on the TCP Keepalive setting, the connection will be released.
