Menu: Environment > Updates > Apply

On the 'Validating environment' screen, the console performs a series of validations in the environment to verify that the settings are correct.

If an error occurs in one or more items, click 'View log' in the left side menu for further information.

- Checking if the update package is up-to-date
At this point the console checks to see if the update package and console are up to date with the latest FIX released. If the package or console is outdated, the NOK status is displayed. Click 'Correct' to solve the problem. The Update Download screen is displayed. Download the updates available for package or console.

- Customization validation
Validates all customizations of this update.

- Testing Appserver
If the 'Use application server' option is checked, a connection to the registered AppServer is tested in the environment. If the AppServer or console is unavailable, the NOK status is displayed. Click 'Correct' to solve the problem. The Application Server screen is displayed. Check if the AppServer connection parameters are correct and edit them, if necessary. If the settings are OK, check the AppServer broker to see if is active in the server. If the 'Use application server' option is not checked, the AppServer connection is not tested.

- Validating 4GL database connections
Connection tests are carried out in databases with 4GL access registered in the environment. If any database is unavailable, the NOK status is displayed. Click 'Correct' to solve the problem. The 4GL Access Database screen is displayed. Check if the 4GL connection parameters are correct and edit them, if necessary. If the settings are OK, make sure that the databases are active in the server and that there is nothing blocking the connection between the machine running the console and the database server.

- Validating process parameters
On this stage the console verifies if all process parameters required for package update have been entered. The NOK status is displayed if any required parameter was not entered. Click 'Correct' to solve the problem. The Process Parameters screen is displayed. Check the parameters required and register them.

- Validating environment and program update.
Here the console performs some validations to ensure that the environment and program update stage is successful. In this release, the console validates the existence of binary files required for update.

- Partition validation
Validates partitioning data.

- Validating SQL database connections
The console scans the SQL access databases required for this update, and tests the access to these databases. The NOK status is displayed if any connection problem occurs.
Click 'Correct' to solve the problem. The SQL Access Database screen is displayed. Check if the SQL connection parameters are correct and edit them, if necessary. If the settings are OK, make sure that the databases are active in the server, if there is a SQL broker set for this database in the loading script, and if there is nothing blocking the connection between the machine running the console and the database server.

After you fix all the problems, click 'Back' in the left side menu of the screen and then 'Apply' to rerun the update.

If no validation errors (OK status) are found, the console automatically proceeds to the next stages of the update.
