FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1x
FACT(s) (Environment):
SCO OpenServer
SYMPTOM(s):
Error connecting to remote Database on SCO OpenServer via SQL-92
Installed Progress 9.1C to support Both 4GL and SQL92 servers
This broker supports 4GL server groups only. (8863)
There is no server for database <>. (1423).
CAUSE:
The SQL-92 engine is not available when running Progress on SCO OpenServer. The engine is only available SCO Unixware and Caldera OpenUnix.
FIX:
There are no plans to implement the SQL-92 engine on SCO Openserver. In order to make this type of connection, the user must migrate to Unixware 7.1.1 or OpenUnix 8. This does not require new media to install.
