GOAL:
Are database triggers fired with Progress/400 DataServer?
FIX:
Yes, database triggers are fired as usual when application run through Progress/400 DataServer.
The database files can contain DB2/400 triggers and Progress triggers that were added using Progress/400 Data Dictionary tool. The information about DB2/400 triggers is embedded into individual physical files with the command ADDPFTRG. The details about the Progress triggers (trigger program names, location, etc) are kept in the schema files: P__TRGFD and/or P__TRGFL.
In case of using Native 4GL client on AS/400 triggers needs to be copied to IFS from a client machine into a similar location relative to client's PROPATH.
