SYMPTOM(s):

Combo box does not update database field with typed value and list is displayed

Combo box updates field if value is typed into the combo box's fillin field and list is NOT displayed

Combo box updates field if value is selected from the displayed list

CAUSE:

This is standard behavior. Note when the list of items in the combo box is displayed, the fillin field is used to search for matching values and not as an input field for new data.

FIX:

Select a value from the list or close the list prior to entering new data for the field.
