GOAL:
Can the Progress Explorer configuration be moved from one machine to another?
GOAL:
How to backup Progress Explorer configuration files
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
All Supported Operating Systems
FIX:
Yes, it can be moved. Simply do the following:
1) Stop the AdminServer.
2) Copy $DLC/properties/ubroker.properties over to the new machine.
3) Copy $DLC/properties/conmgr.properties over to the new machine.
The ubroker.properties file contains broker definitions (i.e. WebSpeed, AppServer, etc). The conmgr.properties file contains database startup parameters and Progress Explorer attributes).
It may also be worthwhile to copy $DLC/startup.pf if it contains customized general settings.
If the file locations for Progress and all applications will be the same no changed will need to be made to the files.
