Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
SYMPTOM(s):
The page cannot be found
HTTP 404 - File not found
Internet Information Services
Error is generated after entering WebSpeed Broker name and pressing VERIFY within the WebSpeed CGIIP Messenger Administration Utility (?WSMAdmin)
Using cgiip.wsc
"Check that file exists" within the Add/Edit Application Extension Mapping Tab under IIS is enabled.
CAUSE:
The issue is related to IIS, as the 404 Error - File not found is specifically coming from the WebServer.
IIS HELP excerpt on the options states the following as the cause.
"Check that File Exists" option instructs the Web server to verify the existence of the requested script file and to ensure that the requesting user has access permission for that script file. If the script does not exist or the user does not have permission, the appropriate warning message is returned to the browser and the script engine is not invoked. This option can be useful for scripts mapped to non-CGI executables like the Perl interpreter that do not send a CGI response if the script is not accessible. Because the script will be opened twice, once by the server and once by the script engine, there is some performance cost to enabling this option.
However, this is not the case, the file exists and permission on the system are correct.
FIX:
Disable (deselect) option "Check that file exists" within the Add/Edit Application Extension Mapping Tab under IIS. The issue is specific to the WebServer, specifically Microsoft.
