Using Microsoft Forms 2.0 Label OCX control
Client session crashes with prowin32.exe error
CAUSE:
This is not a bug. Two Microsoft engineers and a Microsoft KBase article have told us that the Forms 2.0 controls were never meant to work outside of the VB environment. http://support.microsoft.com/directory/article.asp?ID=KB;EN-US;Q224305
These controls don't behave correctly; they don't process certain messages
correctly, amongst other things. Also, these controls are not redistributable. If we could cobble something together to get by this issue, that's no guarantee there won't be more issues in the future with this or other Forms 2.0 controls.
Microsoft highly recommends that we find another control that will suit our needs.
FIX:
Do not use this OCX.
