Version 7 Custom Installs - _edit.p not found error
You need to be very careful when doing a custom install of any version
7 products. Once the custom install has been selected, you must
follow these steps to complete the install correctly.
1> After you have specified the device and destination and choose to
do a custom install, press i to Install. The next screen that
comes up is Custom - Select Products. It appears that all the
entered products are selected. This is misleading. You MUST press
<Return> twice on each product to deselect and select the product.
2> Once you select a product, a submenu will pop up with components
listed for that product. You need to determine which of these
components you need to install.
3> Be sure to install either Character Base Tools or Graphical Base
Tools. If you choose not to install either of these, you will
not install the Procedure Editor, Compile Tool or Help Tool.
4> Be sure to install the Database Administration Tools in either
Character or Graphical mode. If you choose not to install these,
you will not install the Data Dictionary or the Data
Administration Tool.
5> The User Interface Builder is a subcomponent of Extended Tools.
Note: The Quick Install is the easiest way to guarantee that all the
required components have been installed.
