7. Output Device Types
There have been some questions on Administration->Printer Setup.
Here is an explanation of what actually happens inside RESULTS when
different "Device Types" are used.
- "Desc for listing" is the name of the output device that appears on
the scrolling list. This is for display only.
- "Device name" is the physical device name. See below for usage.
- "Type" is "term", "to", "thru", "view", "file", "page" or "prog".
(Note that all of the examples here use a V6 PROGRESS feature, that
of PAGE-SIZE VALUE(x). For V5, RESULTS still allows run-time
selection of page-size, but by compiling a small procedure thatdoes
something like "OUTPUT ... PAGE-SIZE {1}".)
