Building X-Windows requires tcp/ip libraries

920109-slk01
In Version 6, in order to build an X-Windows product,
the customer must have tcp/ip libraries installed. This is
a requirement of the X-Windows libraries, not Progress.

On most machines this is not a problem because the operating
system usually either comes with tcp/ip libraries by default
or the vendor will provide them free of charge. However, SCO
does not provide them by default and charges $1000 to get
the libraries. Therefore, we have a patch available (it's
actually a pre-built progress/X-Windows executable for SCO Unix
and a version file) referenced as 6.2Gxx.

We have submitted this problem as bug #920103005, so that
in the future we can find some other way to handle this
(because we never know when another vendor will begin
charging for these libraries). What is currently being
investigated for a future version is always providing
an extra executable that has X-Windows built in (i.e.,
an _prox module in the $DLC directory).
