9. Updating from RESULTS V5 to RESULTS V6
9.1. How do I update my query forms?
Just do an "Application Rebuild". RESULTS will read in the old
forms, edit them, and write out the new, updated V6-compatible
forms. Do *not* try to run the V5 query forms from V6 RESULTS, even
if you have re-compiled the programs outside of RESULTS.
9.2. How do I update my reports, labels, and exports?
Just "Get" them. They are automatically converted to V6 form when
they are read in. When they are "Put", the V6 format will replace
the V5 format in the user's .qd directory. Any items in V5 format
will have a "?" next to them in the "Get" list.
Note that because of new keywords, you may need to use the keyword
forget list on the user's database (-k $DLC
ewkywd).
For WHERE-clauses or joins built with expert-mode, there may besome
compatibility problems, but for the most part, everything seems to
convert cleanly.
9.3. Change in Directory Structure
For V6, RESULTS may optionally have a directory named "reslang"
underneath the dlcres directory ($DLCRES/reslang). This is usedfor
holding programs and help files for non-English systems.
