DOS TCP/IP CLIENTS - CAN'T USE PROXCOM TO COMPILE ENC SOURCE
900308-SLK01PROGRESS WORKSTATION MODULE: DOS TCP/IP CLIENTS (_MPROWS.EXE) The dos
client must have .r's on the dos box to talk to the unix database.
So, normally, source has to be given to the dos client and they
compile all the code to generate .r's. In the case of encrypted source
with a runtime client, this is not possible because they do not have
the ability to compile - _proxcom is only for single user - it does
not work for multi-user tcp/ip clients on DOS. For now, the only
thing they can do is purchase a Full on DOS in order to compile
procedures. There is a strong possbility (but no guarantee yet) that
_proxcom will have the ability to run as a multi-user tcp/ip client in
order to compile encrypted source - hopefully in version 6.
