LANTASTIC - db engine with 2 network adapters not supported

911008-slk01The following configuration is not supported by PROGRESS:

LANTASTIC LAN
DB Engine with TWO NETWORK CARD ADAPTERS INSTALLED
(in this case it was one 2mb and one 10mb adapter)
Clients connected to one of two adapters -- so basically
you have two networks attached to one machine.
Customer wanted to bring up server and have clients from
either network be able to access the database.

DB Engine
--------------
2mb adapter card | | 10mb adapter card
| |
----- -----
| |
2mb clients 10mb clients

PROGRESS cannot support that because it only looks at one
network card -- the first one that netbios is loaded for --
which is assigned adapter 0
Unless the customer can put the server on a machine with
only one network card installed and have LANTASTIC
handle the redirection of the different clients over
this bridge to the db server, then they cannot
use this type of network configuration to access
one database server. They would have to maintain
two different databases and servers on the different
LANS's.

Workstation
-------------
2mb adapter card | | 10mb adapter card
| |
----- -----
| |
2mb clients 10mb clients
(db engine on one of these
workstations)
