DOES PROGRESS WORK WITH BTOS GPS (GENERIC PRINT SPOOLER)?
900313-SLK01DOES PROGRESS WORK WITH BTOS GPS (GENERIC PRINT SPOOLER)? Yes,
Progress will work with this type of print spooler. And now you ask,
what is a Generic Print Spooler - it is a print spooler that is
configured to handle a document that asks for generic attributes --
e.g., underline this portion; or print this part in bold -- without
the user having to know the escape sequences for these attributes.
However, we do not handle any attribute settings for the document,
e.g., COLOR MESSAGES sent to the GPS - will not work. All we do is
send the file to the print spooler - we do not handle any
attributes/escape sequences for the printer.
Therefore, procedures that send PUT CONTROL statements will not
modify the printer attributes. The codes wil gets sent, but the GPS
will capture these and only display them as text on the first line of
output.
