BTOS/CTOS Pro Struct Create - Why last extent is not created

910809-mlb01When creating a multi-volume database on BTOS/CTOS
from a structure description file, it might appear
that the structure description file is complete and
correct but when you do the Progress Structure
Utility to Create the void structure from the .st
file the last extent might not get created.
This is due to the last line not having a carriage
return at the end of the line. To verify that there
is or is not a carriage return, bring the .st file
up in the BTOS/CTOS Editor. Once the file is
displayed press CODE-V to display the normally
suppressed formatting characters. The line that
describes the extent that was not created needs a
carriage return symbol (a graphic character that
represents an arrow pointing down and to the left).
If this character is missing put one in by moving
the cursor to the space after the last character
on the line and press return. This will put the
character in but also put you on a new line, you
don't want to leave the blank line so use the
delete key to delete it. Now finish from the editor
to save the file and try the create again. It should
work like a champ!
