Report Builder Connection Information
V7 Report Builder does NOT recognize command line parameters.
If you are connected to a database when you start the PROGRESS
desktop, you will have a Report Builder Icon, but you cannot start
Report Builder against the same database unless there is a server
for the database. Even in the latter case, you still must connect
to the database once you are inside Report Builder.
Connection parameters for saved reports are stored in the report
definition (in the .PRL file). But the initial connection upon
entering Report Builder must be made inside Report Builder through
the Report Builder Connection dialog box. If you select the OPTIONS
button, this is where you can put additional startup parameters.
Report Builder stores connection parameters for the LAST SUCCESSFUL
CONNECTION made through the Report Builder in the report definition.
Report Builder automatically fills in these values in the Connect
Database dialog when you select Report -> Connect Database.
