BTOS/CTOS Installs on XE530: Use platform name CTOS VM
920207-ptg01We have had reports from customers who are installing our BTOS
product on an XE530 machine that they are experiencing problems with
the installation procedure. It appears that when it asks for the
platform on which they will be installing that if they answer XE520,
the precursor to the 530, that the installation fails. However, if
they state CTOS VM, the installation proceeds correctly. We are not
able to verify this at PSC, however, this is a starting point if a
customer is experiencing problems
The problem lies in the fact that, the XE520 is a much older machine
and the OS is similar to BTOS. However, when Unisys introduced the
XE530, the OS changed drastically, and now is most like CTOS.
