HOW TO SOLVE cp: cannot create OR cp: bad copy errors
920709-slk01Things to check first before replacing bad media for error:
cp: bad copy...
OR
cp: cannot create directory...
1. Are they logged in as 'root' when doing the install?
It could be that they do not have permissions to write to the
directory.
2. Do they have enough disk space?
It could be that they have exceeded the available disk space
during the install.
3. Are they using the correct operating system version?
It could be that they are running on a higher or lower
operating system than what we ported to.
4. What is the density of the drive?
It could be that they are trying, for example, to install a
high density cartridge in a low density drive.
