How to force a shutdown in 6.3D and under when proshut hangs
In 6.3D and later, to get around proshut hang problems, customers can
use the -F option with proshut.
In versions prior to 6.3D, customers can try the following:
(echo 3; echo yes) | proshut <dbname>
This will simulate the -F option.
