Unable to add client to netbios: check config, -S, -H

This Product Services Technical Support Knowledgebase entry documents
the reasons why you receive error 732: "** Client name <name> could
not be added to NETBIOS." It also suggests ways that you can change
your network so you do not get this error.
PROGRESS ERROR NUMBER: PROGRESS ERROR TEXT:

(732) ** Client name <name> could not be added to NETBIOS.
POSSIBLE CAUSE OF ERROR:
========================
For some reason the default name chosen by PROGRESS cannot be accepted
by NETBIOS.
DOES ERROR INDICATE CORRUPTION: IF SO, WHAT TYPE:

NO - this is not an indication of corruption.
CORRECTIVE MEASURES:
===================
The following is a list of steps you can take to fix the problem.
1. For each client startup, use a unique -H. (ie. -H bob)
2. Use the -n parameter to set the number of users in PROGRESS at one
time.
3. Use the -S parameter on the server and workstations.
4. In your "shell.cfg" file, add the following:
IPX sockets = 30
SPX sessions = 30
5. In your "config.sys" file, add the following:
NETBIOS sessions = <n>
where <n> is equal to the -n parameter set in step 2 above.
