FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.x
SYMPTOM(s):
Errors when deploying ADM2 code at client with Client Networking
Errors when compiling ADM2 code at client with Client Networking
This version of PROGRESS compiles only encrypted programs. (1086)
** <program> Could not understand line <number>. (193)
** "<file-name>" was not found. (293)
CAUSE:
The necessary ADM2 runtime support programs have not been deployed.
These files are not installed with a runtime license such as Progress Client Networking. This is intentional. The ADM2 support programs are shipped only with Progress development licenses (i.e. ProVISION, ProVISION Plus).
FIX:
Deploy the ADM2 runtime support programs.
When you deploy applications in a runtime environment (for example, client networking) and use the Version 9.x ADM2 technology, it is the Application Partner (AP) or Independent Software Vendor's (ISV) responsibility to make sure their end-user is supplied with the necessary ADM2 runtime support programs from the AP or ISV's development license.
These files are not installed with a runtime license such as Progress Client Networking. This is intentional. The ADM2 support programs are shipped only with Progress development licenses (i.e. ProVISION, ProVISION Plus).
See Solution 19359, "Necessary steps to deploy and/or compile at client." for detailed information on which files to deploy.
