Error 759 after running out of disk space. - how to fix
900216-wlb01 Error 759 after running out of disk space. - how to fix
This is a bug that occured in version 52d-52h. If the database
crashes hard while extending the database then progress will not be
able to recover the db correctly.
An index rebuild will correct the free chain unwill the next time
progress tries to extend the db. In the event proutil tries to extend
the db the idxbuild may even crash.
Each time the db crashes it does do an extend so the user can run
for a short period of time between the idxbuild and the next crash.
In order to correct the problem the user needs to rebuild an index
(actually if they select "s" to rebuild some indicies then enter "!"
as the first index name it will pass the db rebuilding the free chain
and not rebuild any indicies). Once and index rebuild completes
without errors the user needs to proback the db then prorest it into a
new db to correct the problem once and for all.
Untill they upgrade to 52I or above the problem will happen again
next time they run out of disk space while extending the db.
