FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 8.x
Progress 9.x
Oracle DataServer
SYMPTOM(s):
When migrating an Oracle field defined as number with only one position
Data Dictionary creates the field as logical in the schema holder
Numeric value appears as logical
CAUSE:
Oracle does not have a Boolean data type. When the user pulls a schema over from Oracle Database, Progress interprets position numeric fields as logical fields.
FIX:
Manually adjust the schema on the Progress side after pulling over from Oracle from the Data Dictionary.
1.Highlight the numeric field
2.Choose field properties
3.On the Data type dialog change from Numeric (logic) to Numeric (integer).
