FIX:
Ensure the services and hosts files on both machines have the same entries for the hosts and services you require. If these are the last entries in these files, do a carriage return at the end of the files.
1. Start the database on the UNIX box with -S <servicename>
proserve <databaseName> -S <serviceName
2. From the NT box go to Start - Programs - Progress - Data Adminstration
3. Click on Database, select Connect
4. Click Options
5. Enter the Physical Name of the database, the name of the UNIX host, the Service Name and tick the multiple users checkbox followed by 'ok'
