An errno is an Operating Systems error number. You can determine what the Operating Systems error means by looking in /usr/include/sys/errno.h. On Linux, the errno.h file may be located in /usr/lib/bcc/include/linux or if using RedHat the errno may be located in /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/linux/include/asm-i386, or /usr/src/<build>/include/sys depending upon version of RedHat.
Operating System error numbers (errno) are not always consistent across Unix platforms. Samples of errno.h files are included in this solution to highten this point. Best advice is to look at the errno.h file on the machine that is experiencing the problem.
An errno of 0 means the "O/S is not sure of exact problem" on all platforms.
