When do you select "PRODUCT UPDATE" when installing?

when to choose FIRST TIME INSTALL rather than PRODUCT UPDATE
when installing PROGRESS software.
Is PROGRESS installed already
on this system? -------------------------> NO -------->

*** If you wish to have two different
versions of PROGRESS installed and usable
at the same time, you must specify a
unique directory into which you install
the new version of the software. Then
set up the corresponding environment
variables to run the version you want.
