can't load library libC.a[shr.o] 7.3A5B on IBM RS/6000 AIX
Customers on IBM RS/6000 have seen the following errors with version
7.3A5B when trying to run _progres:
Could not load /usr/bin/_progress
Could not load library libc.a[shr.o]
This was logged as bug 94-09-29-022 and is now fixed.
The problem is fixed in the commercial 7.3A release. The 7.3A1P and
7.3A2P pre-releases for IBM should also resolve the issue.
7.3A4B did not have this problem.

Additional note:
Alternative solution is to install the C++ runtime libraries.
They come with AIX but are apparently not installed by default.
The packages to install:
For AIX 3.2.X install xlCrte.obj
For AIX 4.1.4 install xlC.rte
These can be found on your operating system media.
