SYMPTOM(s):
Error trying to install Progress.
Installation error 136: The configuration data entered is for an incompatible machine. Call PROGRESS Technical Support.
CAUSE:
Installation error 136 occurs when serial number and control codes do not match the correct Media ID# and/or Media Type. The media ID on the CD has to correspond with the platform and OS onto which you are installing.
This same situation would apply if installing a 64-bit product with 32-bit codes and vise versa.
FIX:
Install product from the correct Media Type that the serial number & control codes are meant for.
Check the serial number and the control code. Make sure the license corresponds with the platform you are installing on. If these are correct please check the Media ID on the CD or packaging. Make sure it corresponds with the platform you are installing on.
If the license number or the Media ID of the CD does not correspond please call your local sales office for the right license numbers or CD.
