FIX:
Progress version 9.1C, per the Product Availability Guide, is certified against ORACLE 8.1. Many customers look at the Product Availability Guide and assume that all ORACLE minor releases within 8.1 (such as 8.1.3, 8.1.5, 8.1.6, 8.1.7) are supported and have been certified for all Progress 9.1 versions. This assumption is incorrect.
Please verify carefully the Product Availability Guide for the platform you are working with, as some of the Oracle versions are not certified with all 9.1x Progress versions.
Currently, Progress does support/certify Progress 9.1C version against prior ORACLE versions up to ORACLE 8.1.7
There is one exception. On platform DG/UX Intel does support up to 8.1.5. Latest ORACLE versions are not supported as Progress version on this platform is still 9.1B.
