Solution ID: P5023
GOAL:
How to move the Fathom trending database to another machine
FACT(s) (Environment):
Fathom
FIX:
In order to locate the trending database on a remote machine, the remote machine needs to have a Progress and a Fathom installation on it. The local instance of Fathom will communicate with the remote instance to store the trending data on the remote database. You cannot copy the local trending database onto another machine directly.
To configure the trending database remotely, go into Options, Configuration and under ·Trend database location· select ·Store trend data in a remote Fathom database· and specify the name of the remote host port and number of the Fathom web server port, the default is 9090.
More details about this configuration at the Fathom Installation and Configuration Guide, Chapter 1.1.1 Installing Fathom For the First Time, Item 3. Determine the locations for Fathom trending databases.
