GOAL:

Is the -g parameter still used in Progress 9.x?

FACT(s) (Environment):

Progress 9.x

FIX:

The -g parameter is no longer a valid startup option for Progress 9.x databases.
Beginning with Progress Version 9, there is no longer the concept of a single-volume database. To change the location of the BI file you need to change the .ST file and update the location of the file using the prostrct repair command.

Prior to Version 9, the -g allowed single-volume databases to locate the .bi file in a directory or drive different than the DB file.
