FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.x
Windows
SYMPTOM(s):
Running a structured procedure from the AppBuilder opens a character window
CAUSE:
When the AppBuilder runs code it looks for a specific line of text in the source file to determine whether it runs the code as a GUI program or as a TTY program. A structured procedure does not have the line of code in it to tell the AppBuilder to run it as a GUI program.
FIX:
To force the AppBuilder to run the structured procedure as a GUI program instead of bringing up the Progress Character Client for Windows to run the program simply add the following line to the top of the structured procedure file:
&ANALYZE-SUSPEND _VERSION-NUMBER UIB_v9r12 GUI
