SYMPTOM(s):

Abnormal shutdowns of clients

Both 4GL and SQL-92 clients are connected to the database.

SYSTEM ERROR: Releasing regular latch. latchId:<latch-num> (5028)

SYSTEM ERROR: Releasing regular latch. latchId: 6 (5028)

SQLSRV2 3: Failure during dsmUserDisconnect (-20031)

CAUSE:

This is a known issue. When SQL connections are involved, user actions such as shutting off the computer, pressing CTRL-X or doing Kill -9, cause abnormal shutdown and bring about these errors.

FIX:

Upgrade to 9.1D.

Workaround:
Avoid user actions that cause abnormal shutdowns.
