SYMPTOM(s):
A SQL-92 connection to a 9.1C database fails with this error on the client:
[MERANT][ODBC Progress Driver][Progress] Database not started.
Database log file shows error 8841
SQL server process terminated. (8841)
CAUSE:
These errors have been seen when running Progress 9.1C on RedHat Linux 7.3 and JDK 1.4.0. Progress has not done certification testing for this configuration.
FIX:
The solution is to move to a supported configuration such as RedHat 7.2 and JDK 1.3.0_02 or 1.3.1.
