FACT(s) (Environment):
ODBC DataServer
SYMPTOM(s):
SYSTEM ERROR: SQL number has an unexpected format. (6194)
IBM ODBC Driver
Enterprise ODBC DataServer
Error occurs when retrieving data from a DB2 database via ODBC DataServer
Customer does not have Progress DB2 ODBC Driver
CAUSE:
The decimal symbol on the system settings is not period (.). This has been seen with the IBM ODBC driver, as the problem is not seen with the Progress DB2 driver.
FIX:
There is a setting in the IBM ODBC driver that must be turned on to avoid the error:
1) Go to the ODBC Administrator, select the data source you have
set up and click on the Configure button.
2) Click NO on the login screen. Then click on the
Advanced button.
3) Go to the Service tab, and under Known Workarounds PATCH2,
select 'Always use period for decimal separator in character
output'.
