How to grant specific user rights on Windows 2000.

FIX:

Follow these steps to grant specific user rights in Windows 2000:

1) Go to Control Panel > User Passwords to check if the user is a
member of "Administrators" group.

If not, add the user to an "Administrators" group.

2) In Windows 2000, you have two choices to get to Administrative
Tools:

- Control Panel.

- Start > Pro grams > Administrative Tools.

Choose one of the paths and go to Administrative Tools.

3) Choose Local Security Policy and click on the Local Policy
folder.

4) Click on User Rights Assignment.

5) Double click on the aforementioned specific rights one at a
time.

6) In the "Local Security Policy Setting" window, click the "Add"
button to bring up the "Select Users or Groups" window.

7) Choose the "Administrators" or a user name to be added.

You might need to scroll through the "Look in" dropdown list
to choose the user.
