SE 780: unable to find hosts; PC/NFS Protected Mode DOS
With 6.2Mxx DOS product and trying to use Sun's PC/NFS 5.XX TCP/IP
to connect with protected mode, you are required to set the AIA
enviornment variable pointing to the config.286 file located in
the %DLC% directory (ie: set AIA=c:\dlc\config.286).
By default, the config.286 file has the following entries in it:
LOWALLOCATE=128
PSPSWITCH=0
When you try to connect to the database you will receive a
780 error message : "unable to find host {hostname} in etc/hosts"
What you need to do to get around this problem is remove the
LOWALLOCATE=128 line in the config.286 file.
