RESULTS Initial Build: 63K limit Mark files HIDDEN, re-do
910719-elp031. Common problems during Initial Build:
1.3. 63K Limit on Query Forms
If PROGRESS tries to compile a query form, and the resulting r-code
exceeds 63K, the client fatals. There is no way inside RESULTS to
guess how big the r-code is going to be,
and there is no way to trap the fatal error.
RESULTS will attempt to recover using the checkpoint file it writes.
However, it will keep failing at the same point.
Version 5
Mark the offending file as HIDDEN by going into the Dictionary,
selecting MODIFY SCHEMA, selecting MODIFY EXISTING FILE, and
set the hidden flag value to YES. Write down the name of all
files you do this to so you can set them back to NOT HIDDEN later --
they won't appear on the file list pop up menus after you hide them.
Version 6, 7, 8
When doing the Initial Build, choose either Manual or Semi-Automatic.
If Manual is chosen none of the query forms will be built during the
Initial Build.
If Semi-Automatic is chosen, select all files except the ones
exceeding the 63k limit.
Continue the Initial Build.
The query forms can be built afterwards using Results, Administration,
Form Definitions for Query.
See Kbase 14014 Results V6 - Shrink r-code building query forms - 63k
limit, for hints on how to make smaller query forms.
