connecting/disconnecting db - causing error 1175
910723-pjh02 CONNECTING/DISCONNECTING DATABASES
When a customer connects a database from the editor, runs a small
procedure (for each customer: display customer. end.) against the
database and then in the editor disconnects the database. Then the
customer uses the connect statement again and re-connects the
database, they get the error message #1175 relating to the SHMSEG
parameter (not enough shared memory). We are not releasing the shared
memory for the connected database when we disconnect as we should be.
This has been reported as bug #91052804 and affects Version 6 of
PROGRESS. The workaround is to decrease startup options on the server
(-B, -c, -L, etc.) to have more shared memory available for the
connects.
